Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, August 9th, 2016.- The two Mexicans at the singles are now out of the Abierto Mexicano de Tenis Mifel, presented by Cinemex. Tigre Hank was defeated in two sets by Austin Krajicek 7-6 y 6-3. Meanwhile Lucas Gómez lost against Guillermo Lopez, 6-0 y 6-1.
Today was the first timeTigre and Krajicek played against each other, as local, Tigre, had an edge over the american but a double fault and two unforced errors defined the first set in the tie break.
“I tried to make points that I shouldn’t lose. He (Austin Krajicek) played better in the tie break. I had some unforced errors. Errors change everything. I had the fans support, but i couldn’t do anything else”, said the 24 year old player.
Finally, Krajicek won the match after breaking service in the last game. This wednesday, Hank will play doubles with his fellow countryman Daniel Garza, against the Spaniard Pablo Carreño Busta and the Argentinian Andres Molteni.
Lucas Gómez is also out of the tournament, after loosing against Guillermo García. During an hour match, García had two aces and the same amount of double faults and the local had five double faults during the match disputed at the Grandstand.
Meanwhile the Colombian Santiago Giraldo played an hour and nineteen minutes against the Israeli Amir Weintraub, where the Colombian won 6-4 in both sets.
Giraldo wil play against Sam Querrey, the fourth seeded in the tournament who had a bye for the first round.
At the other courts, the ucranian Sergiy Stakhovsky retire during his first match of due to a health issue. The score was 7-6 (6), 3-1, where the American Reilly was being defeat.
